TRANSPORTATION SERVICE
ARRIVAL
How to get from the airport to your hotel: The fastest way is to order a taxi. Taxi stands are located inside the ARRIVAL HALLS at Pulkovo-2 and Pulkovo-1 terminals. They are open 24h a day. The price from the airport to the ESAT hotels is 800 RUR for a medium size car (enough for 3 passengers with luggage) and 1200 RUR (ca 30 Euro) for a large car (4-5 persons with luggage). You will need Russian rubles to pay the driver. ATMs are available at the arrival halls.
NOTE: please, do not try to arrange a taxi outside the arrival halls and do not accept offers from private drivers.
On June 24 several free busses will go from the airport to the ESAT-hotels. Please look for a person with the ESAT-sign in the arrival hall who will help you to the bus and provide you with the plan showing the way from your hotel to the conference site.
The busses depart at 10.15, 14.10, 15:45, 15:50, 17:30, 20:00; 22:45. For tips on how to use the municipal transportation system from the airport click "Airport and Transport" at the ESAT -2011 website.
DEPARTURE
Please note that due to heavy traffic during the day time it is difficult to accurately predict the traveling time from the down-town to the airport when you travel by taxi or by bus. If you travel by taxi you should start about 3,5 hours before the plane departure time (NORMALLY you should reach the airport within 1 -1.5 hours). Using “Metro” is more predictable (estimated time of the trip by Metro + minibus to the airport from “Moskovskaya” station is 1.5 hours). For tips on how to use the municipal transportation system from the airport click "Airport and Transport". On June 27, conference busses will go from ESAT hotels to the airport.
PLEASE, store your luggage at the hotel on the day of departure but DO NOT BRING it to the university with you: the university is large, the storage place is far away from the entrance and you will have to carry it over long distances/stairs.
