The palace was built in the years 1864-1872 by architect A. Rezanov for the Grand Duke Vladimir, son of the
Emperor Alexander II and brother of the Emperor Alexander III, near to the Hermitage complex of buildings, which was the imperial residence.
The front rooms of the palace do not have a unified stylistic. Here you can see the Renaissance, Rococo, Moorish style, etc.
