Dear colleagues, It is my pleasure on behalf of Organizing Committee to invite you to take part in 8th Congress of Nordic-Baltic Society of Infectious diseases to be held in September 23-26, 2009 in St. Petersburg again. In 2002 St. Petersburg already was honored to receive 5th Congress, and it was very efficient.

The collaboration of all specialists of Baltic Region countries can provide the strong barrier to infectious diseases spreading. We are happy to welcome all attendees of the 8th Nordic-Baltic Congress on Infectious Diseases in Saint Petersburg – a city of culture, science and arts.
More than 200 participants, large exhibition, official approval of Nordic-Baltic Society of Infectious diseases – the main achievements of 5th Congress. All of us clearly understand that control of epidemic situation around Baltic Sea provides the people health in this region.
The main goal of our Congress – to give renovated current scientific information to all specialists who deal with infectious diseases research, diagnostics, treatment, preventing, prognosis, etc. The Congress will give the physicians the modern knowledge to enhance the efficiency of infection diagnostics and patient treatment.
The Congress will allow scientists from different countries to share knowledge and recent breakthroughs in clinical, biological and social aspects of infections research as well as focus on the most essential problems in this field. The pharmaceutical, diagnostics and instrumental companies will demonstrate their latest elaborations for the specialists of this field.
In September 2008 in St. Petersburg, within the bounds of the Congress preparations, there was held International School for young scientists "New Approaches in Diagnostics and Treatment of Viral Infections".
